I am originally from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I lived right outside of Houston, Texas for just over ten years before settling in my present location of Huntsville, Alabama. Although a large part of my undergraduate emphasis was in sculptural ceramics, I also studied printmaking, and it has since become the central medium of my body of work. I have had work shown regionally and internationally, but my favorite place to show work is in my local community!
I have always enjoyed the outdoors and observing the often missed details in nature. My artwork is heavily influenced by those observations, as well as by my experiences raising butterflies and gardening. My prints are all hand inked and printed. I love experimental printmaking, and I often incorporate vintage ephemera, natural objects, and mixed media into my prints. Just as the moments I capture in my artwork are fleeting scenes from nature, the objects I use are from fleeting moments in the past. I like to imagine the life they once lived and bring new life to them in my artwork. I hope you enjoy viewing these pieces as much as I enjoy making them. |
